The Three Things I Want for Mother’s Day
But That I Probably Won’t Get Because, That’s Right, I’m a Mom!
I just have a small list of requests for Mother’s Day tomorrow. Here they are:
1. Uninterrupted Sleep.
Being that I am writing this post at 6 a.m. on a Saturday, you can probably guess how my morning has gone! Per our usual on the weekends, my 2-year-old barged in the room at the crack of dawn yelling “MOMMY, WAKE UP!” when I was in a deep sleep. Once I muttered back, “OK, I’m getting up….” he slammed the door and walked out. Perhaps he can conveniently forget I am in there tomorrow?
2. Control of the Remote.
I live in a house full of boys, so my TV is usually dominated by basketball games, WWE, and superhero cartoons. Can I please just watch E! or HGTV tomorrow without any fight? That means I get to hold the remote too. And, yes, you can have it back on Monday.
3. I Don’t Have to Answer the “What’s for Dinner?” Question.
This question is the bane of my existence, and I’m sure that of most Moms. If someone else can figure out what we are serving and just tell me, that would be pure bliss! Bonus points if they could figure out what we’re feeding the kids for the entire day. I don’t want to worry about that either!
So I can forgo a spa day (although that would be nice too!), if I can just get these three things. Is that too much to ask? What’s on your list? Happy Mother’s Day all!
